About Me

I’m Chris Brewer, the person behind the handlebars of the bicycle in the photo, and the person behind the creation of this website. I’d like to extend you a warm welcome to Bike Like a Brewer, a website I’ve created to serve as a resource for cycling in Lewis County, Washington.

Just a tad bit about me: I’ve been riding bicycles for 14 years now as of February 2026, and I call a city known as Centralia home. By day I work in the information technology career field, and by evening I’m usually on my bike or trying to plan my next outdoor adventure. Outside of cycling, I really enjoy nature photography, visiting the Oregon Coast, and tasting coffee wherever I can get my hands on a good cup. I’m just as home on my gravel bike as I am my road bike, and love the unique challenges and opportunities each style of cycling brings.

My love for the outdoors has compelled me to volunteer in a variety of capacities, the latest of which was serving as a board member for the Lewis County Community Trails Association and volunteer for numerouis organized rides in the area.

I was elected to City Council in Centralia in November 2023 and started my four-year term there in January 2024. I’ve been serving as the city’s deputy mayor since late 2024. I’ve learned a lot about how governance, infrastructure, funding, and all the stuff that makes the city hum along day by day work, and I’ve been blessed to get to know a lot of people in the process.

I own four bikes, and if you think this is a problem, this website is not for you. 🙂

I started this website in late 2024 as a means of centralizing resources and information for cycling in Lewis County. Good info for our area is hard to find, as we’re not a major population center and there are comparatively few cyclists compared to areas to our south and north.

But we’re here, and slowly but surely, our cycling scene is growing. More people from outside Lewis County are discovering the cycling resources we offer, such as the Willapa Hills Trail and the extensive forest roads of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The size of Lewis County means there’s varied topography, from flat farmland to mountainous terrain, and it all begs to be explored.

Bike Like a Brewer aims to be an equal opportunity resource. Regardless of your skill level of cycling, this site will have information, guidance, and encouragement for everyone. Whether you ride 8 mph and love to enjoy the countryside, or whether your thing is to get together with your fellow road cyclists and average 20 mph on a two-hour ride — this site is for YOU.

Welcome to Bike Like a Brewer. I’m happy you’re here.
